CeCe Peniston

CeCe Peniston elevated as a true artist in 1991 when a Phoenix based record producer, Felipe “DJ Wax Dawg” Delgado, asked her to record back-up vocals for a female rapper slated to release an album on A&M Records. Soon after, Peniston showed her willingness to make her own individual mark in the business and landed her solo project commissioned by then A&M Records music executive, Manny Lehman. CeCe’s hit single known today as “Finally” was born.

During the 1990’s, CeCe became an international sensation and was considered to be one of the most successful dance club artists in the history of the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play Charts. She scored five major number one hits within three years. Her signature dance hit “Finally” was #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and #2 on the U.K. Top 75. It became one of the biggest dance records in history, selling over 3 million copies worldwide. Ultimately, the song won two awards and three of her singles released in 1992 would be listed within the Top 100 songs of the Billboard Year-End chart.
In 1992, CeCe received several awards for her achievements in the music industry including a Billboard Music Award for Best New Artist – Dance and three awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), including Song of the Year, Pop Songwriter of the Year, and Most Performed Song of the Year. She received three additional awards as Best New Dance Artist, Best Dance Solo Artist and Best 12” Dance Record at the Annual Winter Music Conference as well as the BMI Urban Award of Achievement. After focusing on songwriting for several years, she began working on her second album with producers Eric “E-Smoove” Miller and Todd Terry. Released in 1997 on Atlantic, “From Now On” reflected broader interests for Robin S., encompassing gospel and ballads in addition to hi-NRG dancefloor material.

Reel 2 Real Featuring The Man Stuntman

The Mad Stuntman is a high voltage musical lightning rod from Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago who has created a unique and powerful style of music focusing on rhythm and seductive groove. Dominating domestic and international charts and garnering record sales, the Mad Stuntman’s eclectic style fuses together the essential elements of his roots - reggae, soca, dance music and R & B.

The Mad Stuntman's overnight success and chart domination was largely due to his 1994 blockbuster single, “I Like To Move It,” on the Strictly Rhythm/EMI label under the brand name of Reel 2 Real. The hit first made its mark in the United Kingdom and then it clawed its way up the US Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Dance Club Play charts. It became a #1 record in Belgium, Canada, France and The Netherlands, and was certified gold in France, Germany and The Netherlands.

In less than a month the record had sold 1.5 million units. Some described the song as a House jam, others called it Reggae Fusion and music lovers on the other side of the Atlantic referred to it as Eurodance. Whatever it was called, the song was incendiary. The Mad Stuntman had found his groove and his monster hit was burning up radio stations and dance floors everywhere, from Brooklyn to Brussels.

“I Like To Move It” was used in the eternally popular film “Madagascar” by DreamWorks, featuring prominently as the theme song not just on the initial release but the song was included in both sequels as well. In addition, the single was included in the motion picture 'Saving Silverman' and as the theme for the video game 'Miami Nights: Singles In The City'.
