ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 17, 2009) – South Jersey’s premier dining, shopping and entertainment complex, The Quarter at Tropicana Casino & Resort, will host the second annual Taste of The Quarter on Monday, August 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring local personalities and dignitaries.

Benefiting the United Way of Atlantic County, community leaders and local personalities have generously donated their time to serve menu items at various tables throughout the event. To date the following people will be participating in the Second Annual Taste of The Quarter event: Senator Jeff Van Drew, Assemblyman John Amodeo, Assemblyman Vincent Polistina, Councilman Dennis Mason, Marc Miller morning show host of SoJO 104.9, Eddie Davis morning show host of Lite Rock 96.9, Theresa Berry news anchor for TV 40, Pinky Kravitz columnist for AC Weekly and host of Pinky’s Corner on WOND, Barbara Altman mid-day show host on WOND, Chuck Darrow casino columnist for Philadelphia Daily News, Scott Cronick editor of At The Shore – Press of Atlantic City, Jen Miller author of DownTheShoreWithJen blog, Lew Steiner publisher of AC Weekly, Ms. Senior New Jersey Bernadette Dudek, Hooters Girls and Tropicana executives.

Building off of the success of last year’s event, the second annual Taste of The Quarter will feature more than 15 of Tropicana’s restaurants and nightlife venues serving special menu items. Menu items are as follows:

Taste of The Quarter will also feature WTTH radio show host, Raymond Tyler in Central Plaza as our special guest DJ, the Howard Isaacson Jazz Trio in Fiesta Plaza and salsa dancers.

Taste of The Quarter will benefit the Atlantic County community with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the United Way. Funds raised by the event will support 60 local programs working to improve lives of local residents with services such as: adult literacy education; emergency assistance for food, clothing and shelter; after school programming and pediatric free health services, including dental care.
