World Fighting Champions (WFC) bring an action-packed Mixed Martial Arts extravaganza to Atlantic City’s Tropicana Casino and Resort on Friday, May 30, 2008. WFC premiers “Lock Down” The Battle of North vs. South” featuring Kit “The Prophecy” Cope & Dave Cochran and thrilling bouts from some of the top mixed martial artists from one coast to the other.
Tom Crowther, President and CEO of WFC, states, “Going to Atlantic City is historic… some of the most legendary brawls have taken place there. We are excited to be apart of the action and looking forward to taking WFC to the next level.”
The main bout features the popular, Kit “The Prophecy” Cope, fighting for the first time in over a year since having ACL replacement surgery. Kit is currently being followed by MTV's award-winning “True Life” documentary series portraying remarkable real-life stories of young people and the unusual subcultures they inhabit. The coverage of Kit’s May 30th performance will air in early July on an episode called True Life, “My Life as an MMA Fighter.”
“Lockdown” will feature some of the most talented MMA fighters to step into the ring from coast to coast including Las Vegas’ Kit “The Prophecy” Cope (1-4) vs. Iowa’s Dave Cochran (24-24), Florida’s Eric Reynolds (8-0) vs. Jersey’s Damien Vitale (4-0), Florida’s Danny Ruiz (6-2) vs. Jersey’s Eric Henry (7-4), Florida’s Daniel Perez (2-0) vs. NJ’s Hercules Benjamin (1-0-0).

The official “Lockdown” WEIGH-INS will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 6pm in the Tropicana Ballroom and are OPEN to the public. The weigh-ins will include a meet and greet with the fighters as well as on-on-one interviews with the press, available upon request.
