RING OF COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIP MMA RETURNS TO ATLANTIC CITY

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (April 30, 2008) – Louis Neglia’s Ring of Combat (ROC) returns to the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City on Friday, May 9th.

Ring of Combat XIX will feature many of today’s rising stars of Mixed Martial Arts. Featured “superfight” stars competing for the USKBA Middleweight Championship title are Nick Catone of BJJ Shore Academy and Brett Linebarger of Daddis Fight Team. Nick Catone was sidelined for the last ROC but is back stronger than ever and ready to climb the ladder to MMA stardom. He is currently undefeated and rocked ROC this past December with a TKO in 1:08 of the first round. Brett Linebarger gained major notoriety in his first professional fight in January’s Sho XC - Elite Challenger Series where he landed a devastating left hook to knock-out his opponent. Seeing these two fighters battle promises to be a truly great championship event.

Among others, the main card includes Paul Mann (Clinch Academy) fighting (WKA Muay Thai Champion) Will Hamilton of (TSMMA); Jacob Kirwan (Clinch Academy) competing against Ed Fyvie (Spa City BJJ) who knocked-out his opponent in last year’s ROC - Tournament of Champions; Dom Stanco (Bellmore Kickboxing) fighting tough Mark Berracol (of BJJ Shore Academy); and Constantinos Phillippou (Serra Longo) fighting Ricardo Romero (Advanced Martial Arts) who won last year’s Beasts of the Northeast Light Heavyweight Championship and four straight ROC events.

Ring of Combat is a true breeding ground for great MMA fighters. Top fighters who began their careers with the Ring of Combat include the likes of Matt Serra, Frank Edgar, Josh Kosheck, Kurt Pellegrino, and Phil Baroni.

Don’t miss the next generation, and current MMA stars go to battle in the Ring of Combat. Tickets are on sale now for Ring of Combat XIX (May 9th at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City), so be sure to act fast before they are sold out!
