singing greats Little Anthony & The Imperials

With Frankie Lymon’s Legendary Teenagers and Speedo & The Cadillacs, February 16 and 17, 2008

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (January 28, 2008) – Don’t be on the outside looking in when the Tropicana Casino & Resort presents Sounds of the 50’s – starring Little Anthony & The Imperials in the Tropicana Showroom, Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17, 2008. With appearances by Frankie Lymon’s Legendary Teenagers and Speedo & The Cadillacs, and hosted by Philadelphia’s favorite DJ Lou Costello of Crusin’ 98.1, this fabulous Fifties show will have you reminiscing to your favorite songs.

Little Anthony & The Imperials are living proof that doing what you love can keep you young forever. They are one of the few vocal groups rooted in the 1950s that continued to produce chart-topping hits. Little Anthony & The Imperials still tour and record with their original lineup, entertaining audiences with amazing style, choreography, songs and unparalleled showmanship. Their biggest hits include, “Shimmy, Shimmy Ko-Ko Bop,” “Hurts So Bad,” “I Miss You So”, and “ Take Me Back.”

Frankie Lymon’s Legendary Teenagers had the distinct honor of representing America’s new music before the Queen of England, thanks to hits like “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” “The ABC’s of Love,” “Teenage Love,” and “Paper Castles.” The Teenagers still appear throughout the world, having  performing to standing ovations for thousands of adoring fans.

The Cadillacs were one of the premier rhythm and blues vocal groups of the 1950s, singing a style of music later known as doo-wop.  They were one of the first vocal groups to use elaborate choreography in their stage shows to hits like “Gloria,” “No Chance,” “Down the Road,” and “Speedo.”. Today, Speedo & The Cadillacs still put on a great rock and roll show with the energy, flash and finesse that has become synonymous with their name.
Sounds of the ‘50s is produced by the production team of Sal Angelo and Gary Reynolds. Dates and show times are Saturday, February 16 at 9 p.m., Sunday, February 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $55, and are available at the Tropicana Box Office or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com, or via phone at 1.800.736.1420.
